About Men's Therapy Hub

We built this because men weren't getting the therapy they needed.

A directory and resource hub built for men — by a therapist and former journalist who has spent a decade writing about men's mental health, and a clinical psychologist who has spent a decade treating it.

75%
of UK suicides are men.
¼
of therapists are men — and fewer than a third of clients.

directory built around that gap.
Our mission

Men, back on both sides of the sofa.

Men were once at the forefront of psychotherapy — today they make up around a quarter of therapists and fewer than a third of clients. More men are seeking help than ever, but dropout rates are high, often because they feel misunderstood. Our mission is twofold: to get more men into therapy — as clients and as therapists — and to build a space where men feel confident having meaningful, life-changing conversations with other men.

About our therapists

A specialist directory built to make male therapists visible. Every practitioner is registered with a PSA-accredited body or HCPC-regulated — your assurance they're properly qualified and bound by a professional code.

Our story

Our logo is three mountains side by side — the client, the therapist and the supervisor, standing together. Healing happens through connection, not in isolation. Here's how we got here.

The people behind it

Our team

A therapist who spends his days talking to men about why they don't get help, a clinical psychologist treating the ones who do, and the design behind the experience.

Chris Hemmings

Most men don't need a wellness app. They need a therapist they can actually picture themselves in a room with.

Chris is a psychotherapist (BACP), coach and public speaker who works only with male clients, and a former BBC journalist. He founded Men's Therapy Hub after a decade supporting men and boys through M-Path in the UK and Handlemodeller in Scandinavia. His 2017 book Be A Man: How Macho Culture Damages Us and How to Escape It explored the pressures men face — and reinforced his mission to change how men engage with their emotional lives.

Therapy for men, by men

Why a directory built only for men matters

Men's Therapy Hub is a specialist directory created to highlight and support male therapists and supervisors. Representation matters: for many men, simply knowing that male therapists are out there makes therapy feel like a space where they can belong. Yet men remain significantly under-represented, and that imbalance can make it harder for male clients to find someone they feel comfortable opening up to.

Every therapist listed is registered with a professional body accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA), or regulated by a statutory body such as the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC). That registration is your assurance they are appropriately qualified, bound by a code of ethics and committed to ongoing supervision and CPD.

Because therapy starts with finding the right person, MTH offers a wide range of choices — online and in-person sessions, and therapists working across many approaches — so men can find someone who fits how they want to work. Whether you're searching for a male therapist near you, online therapy for men, or support with anxiety, anger, addiction, relationships or work stress, the aim is the same: to help more men take that difficult first step.
