Men, back on both sides of the sofa
Men were once at the heart of psychotherapy. Today they're a quarter of its therapists and barely a third of its clients. Men's Therapy Hub exists to close that gap — and to change how men experience therapy in the first place.
Therapy was, in its early decades, a field shaped largely by men — as its thinkers, its practitioners and its patients. Somewhere along the way that changed. Today men make up a shrinking share of both sides of the room, and the consequences show up in the hardest statistics we have.
- 75%
- of suicides in the UK are men.
- ~25%
- of therapists are men.
- <⅓
- of therapy clients are men.
More men are reaching out for help than ever before — but dropout rates are high, and too often the reason is simple: they feel misunderstood. They sit down in a room and quietly conclude that this space wasn't built with them in mind.
What we're here to do
Our mission is twofold. First, to get more men into therapy — both as clients who feel they belong there, and as therapists and supervisors who reflect the men walking through the door. Second, to build a space where men feel genuinely confident having meaningful, sometimes life-changing conversations with other men.
Representation matters more than it might seem. For a lot of men, simply knowing that male therapists exist — that there's someone out there who might just get it — is the difference between booking a first session and talking themselves out of it.
Most men don't need a wellness app. They need a therapist they can actually picture themselves in a room with.
Why three mountains
Our logo is three mountains standing side by side. They represent the three people at the heart of good therapy — the client, the therapist and the supervisor— none of them standing alone. It's a small reminder of something we believe deeply: healing happens through connection, not in isolation.
That's why Men's Therapy Hub isn't an algorithm that decides for you. It's a directory of verified male therapists and supervisors, alongside honest resources made with men in mind — so you can find the right person, in your own time, and take the first step on your own terms.
An invitation
If you're a man looking for therapy, a therapist or supervisor who wants to join our directory, or someone who simply believes in the importance of men's mental health — we'd love for you to be part of this. Together, we can change the narrative around therapy for men: one conversation, one session and one breakthrough at a time.
